Breaking Barriers
"I am behind thankful for the scholarship I received as part of the Sea Change program. This scholarship has allowed me to attend college at UNC Charlotte where I hope to become a nurse. I know the struggles of not knowing English. In fact, I went into school not knowing English so after getting my degree I want to come back and help my community. No one in my family has ever attended college so just the fact of me being here is breaking barriers. It wouldn't be possible if not for this scholarship and the supportive community here on the Outer Banks."
